Wilbekin could stay in Turkey as Panathinaikos and Valencia keep shopping
Scottie Wilbekin, who was released by Fenerbahce near the end of last season, may remain in Turkey next year after reports in local media said Besiktas has already approached him and is hoping for a positive answer. The former Maccabi Tel Aviv guard, who has dealt with serious injuries in recent years, averaged 6.7 points and 2.1 assists in the Turkish league last season as a reserve under Saras Jasikevicius, and 7.7 points and 1.3 assists in EuroLeague play.
Valencia, meanwhile, continues to lose players after parting with Jean Montero, Sergio de Larrea and Brancou Badio. Spanish reports say it could also lose forward Jaime Pradilla, whom Real Madrid has targeted and whose release clause is set at 2 million euros. Valencia is trying to keep him, as it is also trying to retain Cameron Taylor.
Panathinaikos, which recently signed Badio, has also added Mustafa Fall from Olympiacos in recent days, but reports in Greece say the Athens club is not done. Ergin Ataman’s team is also interested in Joel Bolomboy, who is likely to leave Crvena zvezda Belgrade.
