Scotty Wilbekin Joins Besiktas to Continue EuroLeague Career in Turkey

Former Maccabi Tel Aviv and Fenerbahce guard Scotty Wilbekin has signed with Besiktas, the newest Turkish team to join the EuroLeague. Wilbekin, who joined Fenerbahce in the summer of 2022, was a key player during his first two seasons there. However, injuries severely limited his playing time last season, during which Fenerbahce won the EuroLeague title, restricting him to just two minutes in the competition. Over nearly two years, Wilbekin appeared in only seven EuroLeague games, averaging 7.7 points, 1.3 assists, and 0.7 rebounds in under 15 minutes per game.

Now, Wilbekin aims to revive his career with Besiktas, where he will reunite with former Maccabi Tel Aviv teammate Ante Zizic. Besiktas has also recently added Furkan Korkmaz and Metecan Birsen to their roster, strengthening their squad for the upcoming EuroLeague season. Wilbekin's move marks a new chapter as he seeks to overcome his injury setbacks and contribute significantly to his new team in Turkey.
