Dramatic Police Chase in Bnei Brak Ends with Haredi Youths Evading Arrest

On Friday night in Bnei Brak, two Haredi youths riding electric bicycles without license plates evaded a police chase that lasted several minutes through the busy city streets. The police vehicle pursued the riders with flashing lights and sirens, and at one point, an officer opened the patrol car door in an attempt to block and quickly arrest them. However, the youths skillfully maneuvered onto the sidewalk and escaped.

The chase, captured and widely shared on social media, showed the youths weaving between cars, buses, and pedestrians as police efforts to stop them failed. Despite the intense pursuit, the two were neither identified nor apprehended.

Authorities suspect the youths’ flight was not solely due to the traffic violation of riding without a license plate. It is believed they are considered military deserters who have not regularized their status with the Israel Defense Forces. This fear of being recognized and arrested by police likely motivated their escape.

The incident highlights tensions in the Haredi community regarding military service and law enforcement interactions. No arrests have been made, and the investigation continues.
