TV Host Eliraz Sadeh Blames All Israelis for October 7 Attacks, Calls for Unity
Israeli television personality Eliraz Sadeh expressed in a video column on i24NEWS that responsibility for the October 7 attacks does not lie with a single party. He argued that political, military, judicial leadership, and the public all share blame. Sadeh criticized the public for not demanding the occupation of Gaza, stating, "Deep down we knew only occupation brings peace with the Arab enemy." He lamented that instead of uniting against the enemy, Israelis have been fighting among themselves.
Sadeh condemned those who assign blame selectively, accusing them of politicizing the tragedy and harming national recovery efforts. He emphasized that accepting collective guilt is necessary to improve and avoid repeating mistakes. Drawing a parallel to the destruction of the Temple, he highlighted the dangers of baseless hatred, especially ahead of elections, and noted that the nation is more united now than before the attacks.
He called on elected officials and leaders to demonstrate unity and urged the public to reject internal hatred, stating, "The greatest danger to the Jewish people is the hatred among us." Sadeh concluded by encouraging respectful debate and voting without internal conflict, emphasizing that "we are all guilty" and must put hatred aside for the country's future.
