Manchester City Poised to Sign England's Rising Star from Arsenal Rival Leicester City

Jeremy Monga, one of the youngest players ever in the English Premier League, is attracting intense interest from two of England's top football clubs. Monga made his Premier League debut for Leicester City on April 7, 2025, at just 15 years old, becoming the third youngest player in league history after Max Dowman and Ethan Anwari of Arsenal. Despite Arsenal being considered the frontrunners to sign the young winger, David Ornstein reports that Manchester City is also making significant efforts to secure his transfer.

The new Manchester City coach, Enzo Maresca, who previously managed Leicester City and knows Monga well, personally supports the move. Monga is regarded as one of England's greatest football talents. During the 2025/26 season, he made 30 appearances for Leicester, mostly as a substitute, but was unable to prevent the club's relegation to the third tier, exactly ten years after their historic Premier League title win.

With Leicester City's drop and the high demand from top clubs, Monga's future is expected to be decided soon. Manchester City appears ready to make a surprise move to sign the promising winger and bring him to the Etihad Stadium, setting up a new off-field rivalry with Arsenal for the young talent.
