Zach Leday Advances in Talks to Join Hapoel Tel Aviv Basketball Team
Hapoel Tel Aviv is accelerating negotiations with forward Zach Leday as it seeks to strengthen its roster for the 2026/2027 basketball season. The 32-year-old, who stands 2.02 meters tall, recently left Olimpia Milano after his contract expired last summer and is now a free agent. Discussions with Hapoel Tel Aviv, coached by Dimitris Itoudis, are reportedly in advanced stages, with optimism from sources close to the player that a deal will be reached, although finalization is still pending.
Leday began his professional career in Israel, posting impressive stats with Gilboa/Galil in the 2017/2018 season, averaging 19.3 points and 8.4 rebounds. He then moved to EuroLeague teams including Olympiacos, Zalgiris, Milano, and Partizan. In the 2024/2025 season, he returned to Milano, delivering strong performances with averages of 13.1 points per game, shooting over 50% from two-point range and nearly 50% from three-point range.
Partizan Belgrade remains interested in re-signing Leday, creating competition for his services. Hapoel Tel Aviv has set a two-day deadline for Leday to provide a final response regarding the offer. The club is focusing on reinforcing the power forward position as part of its broader efforts to improve the team ahead of the upcoming season.
