Zach Leday Nears Multi-Year Deal With Hapoel Tel Aviv Basketball Team
Zach Leday, the 32-year-old forward recently departing from Olimpia Milano, is close to signing a lucrative multi-year contract with Hapoel Tel Aviv, according to multiple European and Israeli media reports. The Israeli club has reportedly offered Leday a three-million-dollar annual salary, with the contract spanning several years, aligning with earlier disclosures by Sport Channel.
Partizan Belgrade also expressed interest, presenting an initial two-year offer worth 4.5 million euros. However, Leday raised his demands to 5.2 million euros total, split as 2.5 million euros for the first year and 2.7 million euros for the second. Partizan has declined to increase their offer further, making Hapoel Tel Aviv the frontrunner in negotiations.
Leday concluded his contract with Milano this summer after two seasons, averaging 13.1 points per game with strong shooting percentages and 4.2 rebounds last season. He began his professional career in Israel with Gilboa/Galil in 2017-2018, posting 19.3 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. Since then, he has played for Olympiacos, Zalgiris, two stints with Milano, and three years with Partizan. Basketball journalist Donatas Urbonas also confirmed Leday is in advanced talks with Hapoel Tel Aviv, with the deal reportedly close to completion.
