50-Year-Old Shuttle Driver Collapses While Driving on Route 1, Hospitalized in Serious Condition

A 50-year-old shuttle driver collapsed while driving on Route 1 near the Adumim Fortress on Thursday. Emergency responders arrived to find him unconscious, without pulse or breathing. After initial medical treatment including CPR and electric shocks, his pulse was restored. He was then transported by Magen David Adom ambulance to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital in Jerusalem in serious condition.

Shlomi Friedman, a volunteer with the rescue team, described the scene, noting the driver lost consciousness while driving and required immediate resuscitation efforts. The driver remains hospitalized in the trauma unit for further treatment.

The incident highlights the critical response by emergency teams on a major highway near Jerusalem, emphasizing the importance of rapid medical intervention in life-threatening situations.
