Maccabi Tel Aviv Extends Oshae Brissett's Contract for Two More Years

Maccabi Tel Aviv officially announced on Wednesday the two-year contract extension of Canadian forward Oshae Brissett. Brissett, who played a key role in coach Oded Katash's rotation during his debut EuroLeague season, helped the team secure a double championship this year. Katash praised Brissett's significant contribution to the team's success, stating that he has become an essential anchor for the club moving forward.

Brissett expressed his happiness at feeling at home with Maccabi Tel Aviv and gratitude for the trust shown by the club and fans. He highlighted his motivation to continue playing under coach Katash and his excitement to build something special with the team. In his first season, Brissett started 20 of 36 EuroLeague games, averaging 8.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and a 10.4 efficiency rating in 24:35 minutes per game. His performance improved in the Israeli Premier League playoffs, with averages of 12 points, 7.1 rebounds, and a 14.1 efficiency rating, contributing to the championship win and the double.

The club also responded to recent remarks by Hapoel Tel Aviv owner Ofer Yanai, who claimed Brissett was signed with Partizan and insinuated Maccabi had surveillance equipment in Brissett's apartment. Maccabi's welcome video for Brissett's contract extension subtly mocked these statements. Additionally, Maccabi is now focusing on extending the contract of team captain John DiBartolomeo, who has played nine years with the club, with mutual interest reported and developments expected soon.
