Maccabi Tel Aviv has reached an agreement with forward Oshae Brissett on a two-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2028. The deal comes after Brissett’s strong first season in Israel, and the team has effectively reopened his contract to improve his terms.
The extension was finalized while Maccabi were still fighting for the championship, but they lost to Hapoel Tel Aviv in Game 3 of the playoff final on Sunday. Despite that setback, the club secured one of its most important players for the long term.
Brissett arrived last season as Maccabi’s first foreign signing, initially on a one-year deal with an option for another year. After a difficult start, he improved significantly and became one of the main reasons the team stayed in the EuroLeague play-in race until the final stages.
In this season’s EuroLeague, Brissett averaged 8.7 points and 5.1 rebounds. He earned about $1 million last season, and the new agreement includes a pay raise. Sporting director Claudio Coldebella was heavily involved in the move and pushed to keep Brissett with the team.
