Maccabi Tel Aviv has agreed to a two-year extension with forward O'Shae Brissett, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2028. The deal comes after his strong first season in Israel and while the team was still fighting for the title.
The news emerged as Maccabi lost to Hapoel Tel Aviv in Game 3 of the Israeli playoff final, falling short of the championship it had hoped to win. Even so, the club moved to retain one of its most important players and open his contract.
Brissett arrived as Maccabi's first foreign signing before last season, initially on a one-year deal with an option for another year. After a difficult start, he improved significantly and became one of the players most responsible for the team's push to the EuroLeague play-in race until the final stretch.
This season, Brissett averaged 8.7 points and 5.1 rebounds in EuroLeague play. He earned about $1 million last season, and the revised contract includes a financial raise. Sports director Claudio Coldebella worked hard to complete the move and insisted on keeping him at the club.
