Over 1,000 Attend Opening of New Telmonim Amphitheater with Ishay Ribo Performance
More than 1,000 residents from the Gush Dolav-Telmonim area gathered on Tuesday evening for the inauguration of the new Telmonim Amphitheater, a cultural venue located in the Yaron Forest in central Gush Dolav-Telmonim, West Binyamin. The opening event featured a performance by Israeli singer Ishay Ribo, with all tickets selling out within about two hours. Initially, the amphitheater offers around 1,000 seats, but once construction is completed, it is expected to expand to accommodate approximately 3,000 spectators, making it the largest performance venue in the region.
The event was attended by key figures including Israel Gantz, head of the Binyamin Regional Council and chairman of the Yesha Council, his wife Tehila, Deputy Council Head Hannah Itach, Deputy Head Amichai Rahamim, CEO of the Binyamin Economic Company Yoni Danino, local leaders, council members, and many residents. During the ceremony, Gantz emphasized the council's evolving focus from primarily settlement and land development to enhancing culture, community, and quality of life. He described the amphitheater as part of a broader vision for developing West Binyamin, alongside investments in settlement, infrastructure, security, and living standards.
The amphitheater was established in cooperation with Mifal HaPais and the Binyamin Economic Company, reflecting ongoing regional development efforts. Cultural events and performances are planned to continue throughout the upcoming summer under the "Binyamin Plus" initiative, aimed at expanding cultural and leisure services for council residents. Gantz expressed confidence that the venue would attract audiences from nearby cities such as Modiin and Shoham in the near future.
