Maccabi Ashdod Nears Signing Swingman Sean Dawson for Upcoming Season
Maccabi Ashdod, recently promoted to the Israeli Basketball Premier League, is actively building its roster for the upcoming season and is in advanced negotiations to sign 32-year-old swingman Sean Dawson. Dawson, standing 1.98 meters tall, has seen limited playing time over the past two years. Last season, he appeared in ten games for Bnei Herzliya and three for Ironi Nes Ziona. Prior to that, during the 2024/25 season, he played six games in Italy's second division with Forlì, following two seasons with Hapoel Holon. His most notable recent performance was in the 2022/23 season with Holon, where he averaged 11 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in the Israeli Premier League.
If Dawson finalizes his contract with Ashdod, it will mark his fifth team in the Israeli Premier League, having previously played for Maccabi Rishon LeZion, Bnei Herzliya, Hapoel Holon, and Ironi Nes Ziona. Maccabi Ashdod is working diligently to strengthen its squad as it prepares for the challenges of top-tier Israeli basketball.
