Lotan Amsalem and Nes Ziona Part Ways After Injury-Plagued Season
After a challenging season marked by injuries, forward Lotan Amsalem and the Nes Ziona basketball team have mutually agreed to part ways, with the official announcement made on Tuesday. Amsalem underwent two surgeries during the season, first for appendicitis which sidelined him briefly, and later for a torn meniscus that limited his playing time. Despite these setbacks, he insisted on playing to help the team maintain its position in the Israeli Premier League.
Amsalem averaged 14.6 minutes over 24 games this season, scoring 5 points and grabbing 3 rebounds per game. The club had an option to extend his contract for another season but ultimately decided not to exercise it. Currently, Amsalem is in rehabilitation following his most recent surgery about two weeks ago.
In the farewell statement, the club expressed gratitude for Amsalem's contributions and pledged to support him through his recovery over the summer. They wished him a speedy recovery and success in his future endeavors.
