Shira Shapira, an educator and mother of the late Israeli hero Enar Shapira, who was filmed throwing grenades from a vehicle during the October 7 attack in Re'im, resigned yesterday from her position as Deputy Director at the Ministry of Heritage. She was responsible for heritage affairs in the Etzem HaTikuma region. The resignation was reported by Channel 13 and comes at a critical time, close to the legal deadline requiring civil servants to resign if they intend to run for Knesset elections, suggesting she may be preparing for a political career.

Shira Shapira has recently received multiple approaches from political figures and is widely expected to join Benny Gantz's party. However, she is still in discussions with other political groups, and a final decision is anticipated soon.
