It is impossible not to fall in love with Ben & Jerry’s new flavor. Everything about it is so charming. First of all, the name, Milk and Honey. This is ice cream made in Israel, and its entire purpose is to support the South, which has been hit so hard since October 7. And what says the beautiful, old Israel more than the words milk and honey? This is our land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and despite all the pain of recent years, that is the vision we all want to return to, to be a land of milk and honey.

Even better, the limited-edition ice cream flavor is made with milk and honey and chocolate fudge pieces in the shape of the Star of David, and all of its ingredients come from places that represent the good country: the fresh milk and cream come from dairies in the South and the Gaza envelope, the honey comes from the hives of Kibbutz Yad Mordechai, and the chocolate is made at the Korint plant of the Shikhu Lo Tov Group in Beersheba, a rehabilitation factory that gives people with employment barriers a real opportunity for recovery and integration into the world of work.
Wait, that is not all. Royalties from sales will be donated to rehabilitation initiatives and community projects in the South and the Gaza envelope in cooperation with the Ayalim Association, and even the beautiful illustration on the pint was drawn by the illustrator Rivi Gerlovi-Doron, may her memory be a blessing, a resident of the South. The illustration, called "Fields of Light," tells the story of renewal and hope for a better future, against the backdrop of the beauty of the kibbutzim and the fields of the Gaza envelope. All of this is produced at the company’s factory in Bnei Tuvia.

And the flavor, how is it? Really cute. The honey is there in delicate amounts, adds a subtle caramel sweetness and blends wonderfully with the familiar, good vanilla flavor, and the chocolate is definitely cute, crunchy in the mouth and tasty. Our only criticism is that the chocolate is not fudge, but feels like thin pieces of chocolate, without the softness associated with fudge. The texture magic that usually appears in Ben & Jerry’s ice cream happens less here, but the excellent quality is still clearly felt.
What can we say, it is a fun flavor, it warms the heart and even, sorry for the exaggeration, gives hope for a beautiful future. You know, the kind that drips milk and honey from our satisfied chin.
