Ben & Jerry's Reintroduces Popular Chubby Hubby Ice Cream Flavor in Israel After Consumer Vote

Ben & Jerry's Israel has brought back its popular Chubby Hubby ice cream flavor to the Israeli market. The decision to reintroduce the flavor was driven by a consumer poll, where customers voted for discontinued flavors they wished to see return. Chubby Hubby emerged as the winner from a selection of five finalists, chosen from numerous flavors previously removed from production and placed in Ben & Jerry's "flavor graveyard."

The Chubby Hubby flavor features vanilla ice cream with peanut butter-filled pretzel pieces and chocolate fudge swirls, characterized by its sweet and salty taste profile. The flavor's origin story involves an office prank where two colleagues convinced a coworker that Ben & Jerry's had created an ice cream combining all his favorite ingredients, leading him to inquire about its availability. The company then developed the flavor based on this combination.

Avi Zinger, CEO of Ben & Jerry's Israel, stated that while the company frequently receives requests to bring back beloved flavors, limited freezer space makes it impossible to reintroduce all of them. This initiative allowed consumers to directly influence the decision. The Chubby Hubby ice cream is manufactured at the Ben & Jerry's Israel factory in Be'er Tuvia, using fresh milk and cream, and contains no artificial colors or sugar substitutes.

The 500ml product is now available in retail and grocery chains across Israel, as well as at Ben & Jerry's company cafes in Be'er Tuvia and Yavne. The suggested retail price is 24.90 shekels. The ice cream holds a dairy kosher certification from the Kiryat Malachi rabbinate, though it contains non-supervised dry milk.
