El Al Airlines Extends Partnership with Israeli Paralympic Committee for 2028 Los Angeles Games
El Al Airlines and the Israeli Paralympic Committee have signed a new agreement to continue their collaboration for the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. The signing ceremony took place at Ben Gurion Airport and was attended by El Al CEO Levi Halevi, Israeli Paralympic Committee Chairman Moshe Motalon, CEO of the Disabled Sports Federation Nissim Sassportas, and representatives of Israeli Paralympic athletes.
Under the agreement, El Al will remain the official airline for the Israeli delegation to the 2028 Paralympics. Following the signing, a special decal was unveiled to be displayed on one of El Al's Dreamliner aircraft, bearing the message "Good luck to the Israeli delegation at the 2028 Paralympic Games."
Levi Halevi expressed pride in the ongoing partnership, recalling El Al's role as the official carrier for the previous Paralympic Games in Paris, where the Israeli team achieved outstanding results. He emphasized the importance of sports as a source of rehabilitation and growth in Israel and praised the athletes as symbols of Israeli strength and resilience.
Moshe Motalon highlighted the long-standing, value-based partnership with El Al, emphasizing mutual trust and commitment. He thanked El Al on behalf of the athletes and promised to continue representing Israel with honor on the international stage.
Several prominent athletes participated in the event, including Leah Ben David, captain of the women's goalball team and silver medalist in Paris; wheelchair tennis player Maayan Zikri, ranked 19th worldwide; kayaker Talia Eilat, bronze medalist at the 2023 and 2024 European Championships; badminton player Roni Kastan, a former national squash champion; table tennis player Yehonatan Levi, recent silver medalist in Spain; and taekwondo athlete Omer Barel, who recovered from injuries sustained in the 2023 Iron Swords conflict and previously was an Israeli judo champion.
