A senior US administration official clarified in a conversation with Walla that talks with Iran have not been canceled and that technical discussions regarding the implementation of a memorandum of understanding will proceed as planned in the coming days. The official also noted that coordination channels established after the Lucerne summit to prevent clashes are already operational. These remarks contradict a Wall Street Journal report claiming that talks scheduled for next week in Switzerland were canceled.

The developments follow reports from Axios indicating that the US and Iran agreed to halt the recent escalation in the Gulf and resume talks concerning disputes over navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
