Syria Condemns Israeli Strikes as Violations of Sovereignty and Calls for International Action
The Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned Israeli incursions into the Quneitra and Daraa provinces on Monday, describing them as blatant violations of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The ministry stated that the area was subjected to artillery shelling, which frightened local civilians, and warned that such aggressive actions undermine efforts to establish security and stability in the region. They urged the United Nations and the international community to take responsibility and implement measures to end these violations and ensure respect for the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement.
The Israeli military reported that the previous evening, shots were fired toward an IDF position in southern Syria near Tal Khudna, located within the Israeli security zone. In response, Israeli forces conducted mortar and artillery fire in the area and carried out an attack using a combat helicopter to support ground troops. The IDF confirmed there were no casualties among its forces and emphasized its commitment to continue operations in southern Syria to neutralize threats against Israeli civilians and soldiers.
