Senior Israeli Police Officer Alona Shoshan Reveals Sexual Harassment Complaint Against Deputy Commissioner Abudraham
Alona Shoshan, the head of human resources in the Israeli police, publicly identified herself as the senior officer who filed a sexual harassment complaint against Deputy Commissioner Lior Abudraham, the police spokesperson. Shoshan disclosed her decision to come forward in an interview with Channel 12 on June 29, 2026, explaining that during a joint car ride, Abudraham repeatedly harassed her despite her requests to stop. She recorded the incident herself because she feared no one would believe her otherwise.
Shoshan emphasized that she acted independently and was not instructed by anyone to record Abudraham. She stated, "If he allowed himself to behave this way toward me, a senior officer, I said he could certainly do the same to junior female officers." The complaint and her public revelation have caused significant turmoil within the police force.
Both Shoshan and Abudraham are senior officers closely associated with Police Commissioner Danny Levi and were appointed by Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. They were also involved in a separate investigation related to Ben-Gvir's associates, during which they gave conflicting testimonies against each other.
Abudraham has provided a completely contradictory account of the events, which is expected to be published soon alongside the investigation findings submitted to the legal advisor. Shoshan's lawyers, Shani Illouz and Kobi Avitbul, stated that their client is prepared to fully cooperate with the investigation and will not apologize for speaking out, confident that the facts will ultimately prevail.
This case highlights ongoing tensions and challenges within the Israeli police regarding sexual harassment allegations and internal investigations involving high-ranking officials.
