Senior police spokesman Brig. Gen. Lior Abudraham and Brig. Gen. Alona Shoshan, head of the police human resources division, were summoned on Tuesday for another round of questioning, their third in the same investigation. The case centers on suspicions involving Israel Prison Service commissioner Kobi Yaakobi, and investigators are expected to confront the two with each other.
According to the allegations, Abudraham filed a complaint against Shoshan for witness tampering. He claims she was sent by Yaakobi to record him. Shoshan had previously been questioned under warning on suspicion of witness tampering and destruction of evidence.
A separate complaint has also been filed against Abudraham himself, accusing him of sexual harassment. Both Abudraham and Shoshan were brought to the offices of the Israel Competition Authority, which is handling the probe because of possible conflicts of interest tied to the suspicions surrounding Yaakobi.
Yaakobi was also called in for additional questioning last week. Sources close to the investigation told N12 three weeks ago that Abudraham is a significant figure in the Yaakobi affair, saying he first complained against a senior female officer over witness tampering, prompting her to be questioned under warning, after which she filed a sexual harassment complaint.
