Tel Aviv District Police Shut Down Bat Yam Beach Business for Employing Illegal Palestinian Worker
The Tel Aviv District Police commander, Chief Superintendent Haim Saragrof, issued a 30-day administrative closure order for a business located at HaSela Beach in Bat Yam. This action followed the discovery and arrest of a 27-year-old Palestinian man from the village of Aqraba, who was found sleeping and working illegally at the site without valid residency permits.
The enforcement operation took place last Thursday along Bat Yam's coastline, led by Bat Yam police officers in cooperation with the district readiness unit, Bat Yam municipality's inspection unit, and the "Lavi" patrol. During licensing inspections of various businesses, the suspect was identified and detained for questioning. After the investigation, he was incarcerated.
Simultaneously, a criminal investigation was launched against the employer, a 56-year-old Bat Yam resident, who was released under restrictive conditions following his interrogation. Based on these findings, licensing officers in the Ayalon area proceeded to close the establishment. The administrative closure order is effective immediately and will remain in force until July 28, 2026.
