Lebanese Leaders Clash Over Israel Agreement Amid Civil War Fears

Nabih Berri, Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament and leader of the Shia Amal Movement, warned of the risk of civil war in Lebanon following the recent agreement with Israel. He urged the Lebanese people to be cautious, stating, "My people in Lebanon - beware of civil war."

In contrast, Samir Geagea, head of the Christian Lebanese Forces party, strongly supported the agreement and criticized Berri's stance. Geagea described the deal as "the most important political step taken by the Lebanese state in about fifty years" and called it "the greatest opportunity for Lebanon to break free from its tragic reality."
