IRGC Vows Retaliation for U.S. Strike Near Hormuz
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it will respond after a U.S. attack in the Hormuz area. In a statement, the IRGC said, “We announce a counterattack after the attack by U.S. forces on Sirik Island.”
The force added that it would answer the American strike “at a time and place of our choosing.” The statement did not provide details on casualties, damage, or the nature of the U.S. operation.
The exchange comes amid heightened tensions in the Strait of Hormuz region, a strategic waterway near Sirik Island in southern Iran. The IRGC did not say when or how it plans to retaliate.
