Anti-Hamas protest movement in Gaza plans major demonstrations for June 26

Opponents of Hamas in the Gaza Strip are preparing a wave of protests tomorrow, June 26, under an initiative they call the “June 26 Revolution.” According to the organizers, the first actions are scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. and will take place at multiple locations across the territory.

The organizers say the protests will be nonviolent, carried out under the Palestinian flag and without any organizational affiliation. They have also called on journalists to come and cover the events.

At the same time, Hamas-linked channels are circulating mocking videos and posts about the initiative, referring to it as “Fawda 2026.” Those channels are portraying the organizers, many of whom live outside the Strip, as collaborating with Israel.

The propaganda claims also say the protest effort is being promoted with help from the Israel Defense Forces Arabic-language spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, in an attempt to brand it as activity serving the enemy. For now, it is unclear how many people will heed the call or how Hamas will respond to the planned demonstrations.
