Two men, both about 25 years old, were killed on Thursday in a motorcycle crash on Route 65 near the Golani Junction in northern Israel. Magen David Adom medics and paramedics treated them at the scene and performed CPR, but were forced to pronounce them dead because of severe multiple injuries.
Dr. Omri Gorga, a Magen David Adom doctor and volunteer medic with the organization’s motorcycle unit, said responders found the riders unconscious, with no pulse and no breathing. "We saw the motorcyclists unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing, with very severe injuries to their bodies, after they were injured during the ride," he said. "We carried out medical examinations, but unfortunately their injuries were so serious that all we could do was pronounce them dead at the scene."
Police said officers and traffic accident investigators arrived at the site, collected evidence, and opened an inquiry into the circumstances of the crash. The identities of the dead have not yet been determined. Route 65 was closed in both directions because of the incident, and drivers were told to use alternative roads and follow police instructions.
