Moshe Damayo, the former owner of Bnei Yehuda and ex-CEO at Bnei Yehuda, Beitar Jerusalem and Hapoel Rishon Lezion, has taken on an unexpected new role in Israeli football: senior professional adviser to Maccabi Kiryat Malakhi of Liga Alef South. The club announced the move on June 25, 2026, saying it is part of a broader effort to transform the organization.
In its statement, Maccabi Kiryat Malakhi described Damayo as one of the most influential executives in Israeli football in recent decades and said he will work closely with the club’s management rights holder, Ezra Lati. The club said his arrival, just days after a new sponsorship and management agreement, showed that Kiryat Malakhi is moving quickly and has serious ambitions for next season.
According to the club, Damayo will advise on building the senior squad, choosing the professional staff and setting the club’s overall football strategy. A special emphasis will be placed on reorganizing and upgrading the youth and children’s departments. The club stressed that Damayo will serve in the role as a full volunteer.
Damayo is best known for leading Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv through years of success in the Premier League, including top-flight battles and European appearances, and for holding senior management posts at Beitar Jerusalem and within the Israel Football Association system. The club presented his appointment as a formal sign of its uncompromising ambitions for the coming season.
