Roni Levy arrived at Maccabi Netanya last season, replacing Yossi Abukasis, but the club always viewed this coming campaign as the real test, when Levy would shape the roster and bring in his own staff. The club has now confirmed that he has received full backing from management to make the changes he wants.
Levy brought in Haim Shaabo, with whom he previously worked at Beitar Jerusalem, and mental consultant Eran Weisbard will continue into the new season. He also pushed to work again with goalkeeping coach Ran Kadush, whom he knew from Hapoel Haifa, but the club parted ways with veteran Ofer Bason, who has signed with Hapoel Kfar Saba.
Analyst Aviel Zemro has also departed and been replaced by Liron Galat, while fitness coach Ofer Doron will stay in his role. The staff reshuffle comes after a season in which Netanya failed to qualify for the top playoffs, and qualification for the top six is now the main target.
