Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf rejected another U.S. claim on Thursday that money Iran is due to receive after release from freeze will be used to buy American products. Writing on X, he said, “America claims that our funds, once unfrozen, will be used to buy American agricultural products. This is a lie.”
Ghalibaf also used the post to criticize the United States more broadly, saying the only “harvest” Iran has gotten from Washington is “what you sowed yourself: decades of mistrust.” He described that legacy as abundant and homegrown, and added that the United States “exports only genetically engineered soybeans, broken promises and empty talk.”
