ASOS, the British online fashion giant, is reportedly scouting some of London’s busiest shopping streets for its first permanent physical store. The company has not confirmed a launch date or a final location, but the search is said to be focused on major retail areas with heavy foot traffic and strong fashion-brand presence.
The locations under consideration reportedly include Oxford Street, Regent Street, Long Acre and King’s Road. The prospective store space is said to be between about 370 and 745 square meters.
If the plan goes ahead, it would be ASOS’s first fixed brick-and-mortar shop after nearly two decades operating primarily online. The company launched in 2000 and built its reputation as a major e-commerce fashion retailer.
ASOS has become known for affordable, trendy clothing as well as beauty, footwear and accessories, including both its own brands and third-party labels sold on its website. It serves customers around the world and has a strong following among younger shoppers.
Although this would be its first permanent store, ASOS has already held pop-up events and collaborations over the years, so it is not new to physical retail. For now, there is still no confirmed timing or exact address, and further updates are expected.
