The IDF said on Thursday that it killed Adam Mohammed Ibrahim Abu Khdaid, who served as a commander in the production arm of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, in a strike in the Khan Younis area on Tuesday. According to the military, the production arm is responsible for manufacturing and supplying all weapons for the group’s military wing.
The IDF said Abu Khdaid was involved in several parts of that system, and that the infrastructure he commanded was working to produce additional weapons intended to harm IDF troops and Israeli civilians. The military described him as an immediate threat to its forces.
The strike was carried out precisely, the IDF said, and resulted in his killing. The army also said its Southern Command forces remain deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue operating to remove any threat.
