Israeli singer Roni Dalumi announced Thursday morning that she is expecting her second child, revealing the news in an especially creative social media post that quickly drew tens of thousands of views. In the video, she performed her own version of the song “Baby” and wrote, “We are waiting for you.”
The post prompted an immediate wave of congratulations online, with commenters writing, “Mazel tov! Congratulations and may it go smoothly,” “There is nothing like this,” and “What happiness.” One follower noted that because she “doesn’t show anything,” Dalumi could have kept the pregnancy secret until the ninth month.
Dalumi is one of Israel’s most popular singers. She met her husband, eye doctor Alon Weizman, when she was 19, and they married after about five years together in a large celebration. About three years ago, she gave birth to their first daughter, Dani Abigail, after first revealing that pregnancy during a performance.
Her career began early, first as a dancer and then as a singer. At 17, she appeared on a singing competition and became the youngest winner in its history. She later released three major albums, turned songs such as “Ten” and “Just Two People” into major hits, and also built an acting career with roles in several TV series and major musicals.
