LaMelo Ball may be on the move from Charlotte, with reports in the United States saying Minnesota and Toronto are trying to acquire the Hornets’ starting point guard. After the second round of the NBA Draft on Wednesday night into Thursday, ESPN’s Shams Charania said several teams are chasing the All-Star guard and that the situation could change quickly.
Charania said Charlotte is involved in the talks and that Ball does want to stay with the Hornets, but the team is fielding "aggressive offers." If the asking price is met, he said, Ball could definitely be traded. He added that the story could develop over the next 24 to 48 hours.
Ball just finished a season in which he averaged 20.1 points and 7.1 assists. Charlotte ended the year with a 38-44 record before being eliminated by Orlando in the play-in tournament.
