After England’s disappointing 0-0 draw with Ghana on Tuesday, Ghanaian spiritualist Nana Kwaku Bonsam claimed he had placed a curse on England striker Harry Kane before the match and now says he is removing it. Bonsam said the spell was aimed at stopping Kane from scoring and helping Ghana win.
Before the game, Bonsam boasted, “I have been working hard on Harry Kane recently. I have already proved before exactly what I am capable of, so my abilities should not be underestimated. I know exactly what I need to do to stop him, prevent him from scoring and make us win.” He added that he was not trying to seriously injure Kane, saying, “I am not trying to cause him serious injury, God forbid. I do not wish that on him. All I want is to stop him from playing well against my country. That is my job and I will do it.”
After the supposed spell appeared to work, Bonsam said, “I am the most powerful spiritualist in the world. I am now going to release Harry Kane so that he can score in England’s next match.” Kane had entered the match in excellent form, with 36 Bundesliga goals this season and a brace in England’s opening game against Croatia, but he failed to score against Ghana.
