A new study hall named "Ohevet Eitan" was inaugurated at the Tzvia Har Bracha Yeshiva on Sunday, dedicated to the memory of Second Lieutenant Eitan Avner ben Yitzhak, who fell in Rafah. The ceremony was attended by Rabbi Eliezer Melamed, Rabbi Simcha Weisman, head of the Tzvia network, Head of the Samaria Regional Council Yossi Dagan, the ben Yitzhak and Steinbach families, rabbis, yeshiva staff, students, and guests.
Despite the yeshiva being in the planning stages for its permanent building, the decision was made to invest in constructing a study hall in the current temporary complex. Rabbi Moshe Weitzman, the head of the yeshiva, explained to Arutz 7 that the purpose of the study hall is growth in holiness, love of Torah, and Torah knowledge. He stated, "The study hall is meant to grow, in holiness, in the love of Torah, in learning, and in the knowledge of Torah."
Rabbi Weitzman elaborated on the choice to name the hall after Eitan Avner ben Yitzhak, highlighting his character as someone who constantly grew in holiness and strived for excellence. "Eitan did not give up. He made an effort, built, and progressed, in every area, in every situation. Always with great aspirations and constant work to do the best possible, and then improve a little more," he said.
The decision to build the study hall in the temporary complex, even with permanent plans underway, was driven by the essential role of the study hall in the yeshiva's life and its mission to instill aspirations for greatness in Torah and develop learning skills.
