At a conference hosted by the Local Government Center, State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman said senior officials asked him to remove the accountability chapter from the investigations into the October 7 events. He said he refused, adding that taking responsibility is essential.
Englman said the public must hear the truth about what happened on October 7 and receive answers from the state. “The truth must come to light and the citizens of Israel must get answers about the events of October 7,” he said.
He also posed a pointed question about resistance to the findings: “Who is afraid of the truth and who is afraid of taking responsibility?”
