  • Amir Hetsroni accused Naor Narkis of hypocrisy on Palestinian and Haredi issues.
  • Hetsroni called Narkis a "part-time progressive" with a double standard.
  • He contrasted Narkis's views with his own on Haredi rights.
  • Hetsroni stated a tefillin stand is less harmful than genocide in Gaza.
  • The dispute arose from Narkis's criticism of Israeli society.

Controversial columnist and media researcher Professor Amir Hetsroni has launched a sharp attack on entrepreneur and activist Naor Narkis, accusing him of hypocrisy and a double standard. Hetsroni posted on his X account that Narkis is a "part-time progressive" who is against the Haredi community but "leans right" when it comes to Palestinians, whom Hetsroni characterized as idolaters. Hetsroni contrasted Narkis's views with his own, stating that while he likely shares Narkis's opinion of the Haredim, he believes they have the right to live their lives without coercion. He further asserted that a "stand for laying tefillin in Petah Tikva is far less harmful to humanity than genocide in Gaza."

The dispute between the two men began after Narkis published a post criticizing Israeli society during a visit to southern France. Narkis, known as the founder of the "Returning with Wisdom" movement, ran unsuccessfully in the primaries for the "Democrats" party in July 2026. Hetsroni initially responded briefly to Narkis's post, calling him a "fascist who doesn't like tefillin," before publishing the more detailed critique.
