President Donald Trump sharply criticized four Republican senators who joined Democrats in backing a resolution urging him to stop the war with Iran. Writing on Truth Social, Trump said the Senate chose a “badly timed and meaningless” vote just as, in his words, Iran was “on the verge of collapse” and ready to give the United States “almost anything.”
Trump argued that the vote amounted to helping the enemy. He wrote that the Senate had “given aid and comfort to the enemy,” and said the four Republicans had sided with “foolish Democrats.” According to Trump, Iran then asked his team, “What does all this mean?”
He added that the senators had made his job harder but insisted he would finish it “one way or another,” saying, “I always finish the job!” The post came in response to the Senate action opposing continuation of the war effort against Iran.
