Maccabi Netanya are in talks to sign Cypriot international winger Marinos Tzionis, with the club also considering a left-sided attacker from Romanian side Arad. Tzionis is valued at about 800,000 euros and was previously sold to Kansas City for 1.36 million euros.
This past season in Romania, Tzionis scored once and added three assists. Across his career there, he has five goals in 42 appearances. He is also drawing interest from two of Cyprus’s biggest clubs, APOEL Nicosia and Pafos, and can operate on the right wing if needed.
Meanwhile, Netanya will hold their first training session tonight with Dor Hugi and Grigori Morozov joining the squad. Pedrinho and Junior Diomande, who are not in coach Roni Levy’s plans for next season, will not report.
Seven youth players will also begin preseason training with Levy: Tohar Taana, Itay Montielgre, Itay Schwartzman, Idan Kaplaner, Liam Cohen, Daniel Atlan and Alexey Talpa.
