Maccabi Netanya are in talks to sign Cypriot winger Marinous Tsionis, according to a report on Tuesday. The left winger, who plays for Mardas in Romania, is estimated at about 800,000 euros and was previously sold to Kansas City for 1.36 million euros.
This season in the Romanian league, Tsionis has scored one goal and added three assists. Over his career he has five goals in 42 appearances, and he is also attracting interest from major clubs in Cyprus, including APOEL Nicosia and Pafos. He can also fill in on the right wing if needed.
Meanwhile, Netanya will hold their first training session tonight with Dor Hugi and Grigori Morozov present. Pedrinho and Junior Diomande, who are not part of Ronny Levy’s plans for next season, will not attend. Seven youth players will begin training with Levy as well: Tohar Tana, Itai Montialegra, Itai Schwartzman, Idan Kapelner, Liam Cohen, Daniel Atlan and Alexi Talpa.
