Flydubai Incident Sparks Surge in Popularity for Aviation Documentary Series

An aviation drama involving a Flydubai flight has significantly boosted the viewership of the documentary series "Air Crash Investigation" in Israel. Following reports that Captain Yiniv Hayoun credited the series with helping him stabilize the aircraft during the incident, thousands of Israeli viewers began watching it, quickly making it one of the country's most-watched shows.

Television companies have capitalized on this public interest. Last Thursday, the Israeli provider yes added the series to its VOD service under the title "Learn from Yiniv, Air Investigation, All Season Episodes." The response from subscribers was immediate, with the series becoming one of the top ten most-viewed programs in yes's VOD library within a single day, according to the company's data.

"Air Crash Investigation" is a long-running documentary series that has been broadcast in Israel since 2004. It examines real-life aviation accidents and incidents globally, analyzing the failures and decisions that led to them. The show is known for its detailed reconstructions, utilizing official investigation reports, cockpit recordings, survivor testimonies, expert analysis, and advanced visual simulations.

Through these methods, the series offers viewers intricate details of events unfolding in the cockpit during emergencies, knowledge that, as demonstrated this week, can potentially save lives. In addition to yes, the series has previously aired on the National Geographic channel and is currently available on HOT's VOD and the streaming platform Disney Plus.
