Children's star Michal Weizman, known as Michal Hak'tana, testified in the Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court on Sunday against her former personal manager, Sagi Shechter. Shechter is accused of stealing approximately one million shekels from Weizman. According to the indictment, Weizman entrusted Shechter with her credit card details for work purposes. However, Shechter allegedly used the card for thousands of personal purchases between January 2018 and April 2024, both physically and online, totaling an estimated one million shekels.

Shechter's attorney, Assaf Duk, acknowledged in court that his client did use the credit card for personal expenses but argued that the amount claimed in the indictment is inflated. Duk stated that the actual usage was at most between 200,000 and 250,000 shekels.

Nir Weizman, Michal's ex-husband, testified that the credit card was consistently used for unauthorized charges until they canceled it. He confirmed that the total reached one million shekels after an investigation revealed Shechter was responsible for the charges. He added that they initially filed a complaint believing the sums were smaller, but it became clear that Shechter and his family had systematically used the card. "Sagi was Michal's manager, the closest person to her. We trusted him, he was like family. We didn't think he could do something like this," Nir Weizman stated.

The discovery occurred in 2024 when they registered for SMS alerts on credit card charges. They began receiving numerous notifications for purchases they did not make, many originating from Ra'anana, where Shechter resides. This prompted them to file a police complaint.
