Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem said in a speech ahead of the Ashura commemoration that Lebanon has entered “a new stage in the history of Lebanon.” He said the country is now in what he called “the stage of breaking the Israeli project.”
Qassem argued that this outcome would not have been possible without armed resistance on the ground. “Without the resistance on the ground, we would not have broken the Israeli plan,” he said.
His remarks framed the current moment as a turning point in Hezbollah’s confrontation with Israel, with Qassem presenting the group’s presence and activity as the factor that stopped Israeli plans.
