Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem said the fighting in Lebanon failed to achieve its goals, arguing that the aggression “did not succeed” even though, in his words, Israelis are still betting on changing the situation. He made the remarks about the war in Lebanon in a statement focused on the wider regional confrontation.
Qassem said Iran “came out stronger” and showed that it would not give up its rights. He added that the effort to eliminate Iran and the resistance movement in the region had failed, and said a new stage had begun, which he described as the consequences of the collapse of the American-Israeli project.
He also rejected any arrangement that would leave Israel with operational freedom after a ceasefire, saying, “There is no such thing as a ceasefire with freedom of movement for Israel.”
