Jordan Miller, the lead singer of the Canadian rock band The Beaches, took off her dress during a performance at Germany’s Hurricane indie rock festival as an intense heatwave swept across Europe. She stayed onstage in a white bra and underwear while the crowd cheered, and reportedly threw the dress to fans.
The band later posted a carousel of photos captioned, “Hurricane Festival, before and after. Thank you for hosting us, you are so hot,” showing the group before the show in full outfits and afterward sweaty and exhausted. In the post, Miller appears without the dress, and another band member is shown wearing a bra and jeans.
Some social media followers criticized the move, suggesting she did it because “the music is not interesting enough,” but the band’s own video and post indicated they were unbothered by the reaction. The article ends by jokingly asking how Miller got back to the hotel.
The Beaches were formed in Toronto in 2013, after an earlier version of the group called Done with Dolls. The current lineup includes Jordan Miller, Kylie Miller, Eliza Enman-McDaniel and Leandra Earl. The band broke through with “T-Shirt” in 2017, won the Juno Award for breakthrough act in 2018, and became better known outside Canada after “Blame Brett” in 2023. Recently, “Edge of the Earth” saw a nearly 1,000 percent jump in streams after being featured in Amazon Prime’s “Off Campus.”
