Ironi Ness Ziona has officially signed guard Shalev Lugashi to a two-month contract with an option to extend through the end of the season. The 25-year-old, 1.95m guard joins from Bnei Herzliya, where he averaged 9.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.1 steals last season. Lugashi expressed his happiness to join Ness Ziona and pledged to do everything he can to help the team achieve its goals.
Lugashi's signing comes as a replacement for forward Adam Ariel, who will be sidelined for an extended period. Ariel was diagnosed with a fracture in the acetabular rim of his hip joint, an injury sustained during the recent national team window. Although he had recovered from a previous knee injury and returned to full training, the new hip injury will require approximately six weeks of rehabilitation.
Ariel joined Ness Ziona in the summer on a three-year contract, reportedly at a record salary for an Israeli player in the club's history. He was considered one of the league's dominant Israeli players after a strong previous season with Maccabi Ramat Gan.
