Elitzur Netanya has made its first move ahead of next season in Israel’s National League, naming Shai Siglavitz as the club’s sporting director. The appointment comes after Netanya was relegated from the Premier League this season.
Siglavitz, 42, arrives with a reputation for helping teams rise. This season he coached Maccabi Ra’anana, which he had lifted from the second division, and he will hope to repeat that success with Netanya’s yellow team.
He left the Sharon-area club in February after five straight losses, each by double digits, when Ra’anana was 15-3. Before that, he had worked in Netanya as an assistant coach.
Siglavitz’s coaching and staff background also includes M.K. Baka, Hapoel Gilboa/Galil, Ironi Nahariya, Elitzur Yavne, Ra’anana and Galil. The article says Netanya’s move was reported in advance, and it marks the club’s first step toward the new season.
