Zvika Mor, father of Eitan Mor who was released from Hamas captivity a year ago, posted a moving message on Friday to mark the anniversary. "A year ago, we received Eitan back. When Hamas terrorists invaded, massacred, and kidnapped, they thought they could break us, but they didn't know us," the father wrote. Mor described the immense difficulty of the struggle to bring his son home, stating, "Despite the profound pain that tore us apart from within, we refused to surrender! We chose to fight back. Today, exactly one year after Eitan returned, our story is the story of the people of Israel."

He concluded his post by thanking the soldiers and families supporting the effort. "On behalf of myself and the entire Mor family: Thank you to all the fighters in the field and to the heroic families at home who hold us all up. It is all thanks to you!" Eitan Mor was released from Hamas captivity on October 26, 2025, after 738 days, on the day the last 20 hostages and fallen soldiers held by Hamas returned to Israel.
