Hapoel Eilat is reportedly close to signing Kenyan power forward Nuni Omot, who previously played for Maccabi Ramat Gan. The 31-year-old, standing at 2.06 meters, is expected to sign with the southern Israeli team until the end of the season. Omot played for Maccabi Ramat Gan in April 2024, appearing in eight games and averaging 15 points and 4.5 rebounds. His basketball career includes college play at Concordia, Indian Hills, and Baylor, followed by stints in the G League and professional teams across Europe, South America, Asia, and Africa, including Al Ahly of Egypt and Al Riyadi of Beirut. He joins Hapoel Eilat from Shandong Hi-Speed Kirin of China.

In other team news, Hapoel Eilat will be without player Aaron Wheeler for at least a month. Wheeler underwent imaging at Tel Hashomer Hospital after experiencing swelling and pain in the same knee that caused him a significant injury last season. He was not in the team's roster for the game against Hapoel Holon.
